Product Description

If IKEA met a Prius, then this little car might be what they would come up with. Perhaps that's a stretch, but this neat little Fuel Cell Kit Car, does come kind of flat packed and is pretty darn green. The concept is fairly simple, and the execution is fabulous. Much like Airfix models of old, the car comes in snap off sheets, but unlike old-fashioned models it only takes about ten to fifteen minutes to build, and doesn't require any glue. Once you've constructed your very cool looking little Fuel Cell Car, all you have to do to power it up is add a few drops of home-made salt water and off it races. Its a pocket size little eco-sports car and science lesson in one. We just wonder what a full sized version of this would be like, though we imagine there would be inherent difficulties in pouring buckets of seawater into the boot of your car every time you wanted to take a spin. The power comes from a chemical reaction between salt water and magnesium, and a few drops of water will allow the car to run for about ten to fifteen minutes. Great for zipping about your desk or across the floor at home, and a fun way for the kids to get a quick lesson in eco-friendly energy.
