General Help!

Hello everyone and welcome to the sometimes slightly confusing electronic medium of ‘online shopping’. We’ve tried to make life as easy as possible at GenieGadgets.com but just in case you do stumble slightly, we’ve put together a (hopefully) idiot proof help section to tackle some of the more pressing enquires from you inquisitive shoppers. If the following information doesn’t help enough to answer your question, why not try giving us a ring or drop us an email.

Ordering

Placing an Order:
You’ve got a few options, all of which are secure, simple and quick. For the real techno lot, you can place an order via our snazzy and secure interactive website. If this is a little too daunting for you, please revert to either picking up the phone or placing an order via post. Sorry, we had to stock our carrier pigeon service following an incident with a high voltage power line.

If you want to pay by card, we can process most major credit and debit cards except AMEX (Visa, Mastercard, Visa Delta, Visa Electron, Switch and Solo). If you decide to pay by cheque please ensure that it is made payable to GenieGadgets.com Ltd is pounds sterling from a UK bank or building society and note that we must allow the cheque to clear before sending out goods.

In addition, for orders placed by post, please ensure the relevant delivery charges are added, otherwise it’ll take a little bit longer to get everything to you.

Dispatch & Delivery

Processing & Despatch
Our order processing and fulfillment teams work around the clock to try and get your gadget goodies to you as quickly as possible.

We have a strict cut off time of 2.15pm for all delivery options. Orders placed before this time (Monday to Friday) will be dispatched the same day. Orders placed after this time will be dispatched on the next working day.

On Bank Holidays and around Festive times we try and keep the disruption to a minimum but are limited to dispatching on Saturdays and usual working days.

Certain times of the year become very busy for our dispatch teams due to surges in order volume (in particular around Christmas). During these times, please be patient and allow a little longer for delivery. If you are unsure please contact us directly.

Delivery Options

Free Delivery
Whenever you spend over £60.00* we’ll send your order to you for free via our Standard Delivery service (see below). On orders over £60.00 requiring our Next Day Delivery Service (see below) we’ll only charge £4.95.

For orders containing multiple products, you will only be charged the postage cost for one item.

The following fully trackable delivery options are available within the UK:

Standard Delivery - £3.95
Our Standard Delivery service takes 1-3 working days from the time of order. The majority of orders dispatched using this method require a signature on delivery.

Guaranteed* Next Day Delivery Service - from £5.95
Our Next Day Delivery service is always dispatched same day (Monday to Friday) if the order is placed before 2.15pm. Orders placed after this time will be dispatched the next working day. All orders dispatched in this way will arrive before 1pm the day following their dispatch. All orders sent on our Next Day Delivery service will require and to prevent a delay or risk of returned orders, please ensure that someone can sign for the delivery.

*Delivery Service Guarantee
In the unlikely event that our courier does not attempt to deliver your order before the times stated above we will refund the difference in postage costs from our standard service.

Channel Islands
The Standard Delivery service to the Channel Islands carries the same charge of £3.95 as the rest of the UK mainland.

When Next Day Delivery is required a charge of £6.95 is levied (£5.95 on orders over £60.00)

On larger orders to the Chanel Islands or for larger/ heavy products we may charge a higher rate. Under these circumstances we will contact you directly to inform you of the cost.

International Delivery
We offer a flat rate of £9.95 for international deliveries. All goods are sent on a fully insured and trackable service. Some products are exempt from international shipping. In addition, some orders may incur a higher delivery charge. In either instance we will inform you. The following estimated delivery times apply:
European Insured Delivery 3-4 Working Days
Worldwide Insured Delivery 3-5 Working Days

British Forces - BFPO
All orders to BFPO destinations can be placed in the usual way: please ensure that the correct and full BFPO postcode is used in the order. We charge mainland UK delivery rates on all international BFPO shipping addresses. Please note that some products are exempt from being dispatched to BFPO addresses. Under these circumstances we will notify you directly. Estimated delivery times are stated on the BFPO website.

Exceptions
Some very heavy or bulky goods may incur higher delivery charges and may not have the option for Next Day Delivery. These will be clearly stated in the product descriptions.

We do not deliver to P O Box addresses.

If we receive goods returned by our couriers as undeliverable for reasons within your control (including incorrect delivery details or no-one available to receive orders) a further charge may be levied to pay for re-delivery. If undelivered orders are cancelled, refunds may be reduced by an amount equaling the cost of returning the goods to us.

Returns

Returns And Refunds
We try and make life a bit easier when it comes to returning goods to GenieGadgets.com. Although we want you to be happy with everything that you bought, we understand that it can be necessary to send certain products back. Don’t worry, we don’t hold grudges and this does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

‘Change of Heart’ Goods
If for whatever reason you want to send something back to us you can do so within 30 days of the date of purchase. If within this timeframe we receive the goods and they are in the condition that we sold them to you in (ie unused and unopened) we will happily refund the cost of these to you. The only charge you will incur is the cost of sending them back to us. But remember, you are responsible for the goods until we receive them so please choose a suitable method of delivery to return the goods to us (ie with sufficient insurance cover and a signature on delivery). When you return anything to us please enclose a copy of the invoice and a brief note explaining the required action.

Faulty Goods
If you receive a damaged product, the wrong product or anything else that you deem to be unsatisfactory please contact us immediately (and within 30 days of receiving the goods) by either phone or email. We will happily either exchange or refund the products in question and incur all postage charges involved. We will advise as to the most suitable method of returning the items to us and ask you to retain a certificate of postage in order to claim the costs of return delivery. When you return anything to us please enclose a copy of the invoice and brief note explaining the required action.

Please note that some goods may be exempt from our returns policy including but not limited to goods containing gas, perishable goods and items of clothing including sleeping bags.

Christmas Returns Policy
After the Christmas period we offer an extended returns policy. The same general restrictions apply regarding the unused condition of any returned items, however, we can accept items up until 20th January. In addition, recipients of products bought from GenieGadgets.com can return them directly and receive a Gift voucher up to the value of the original purchase or exchange it for other products up to that same value.

Payment Security

Security & Credit Card Safety
We take security very seriously indeed at GenieGadgets.com and we guarantee safe shopping with the help of the high level security technology. When any order is placed, sophisticated 128 bit SSL Software is used to encrypt your payment details which means that it is safe. Only our secure server can decrypt the necessary coding to complete the payment.

This security is controlled and regulated by Comodo, a specialist payment security company. Look for their secure interactive logo on our site.

In addition to these stringent security measures we offer a further ‘peace of mind’ guarantee. If through no liability of your own, your card details are used fraudulently on GenieGadgets.com and your Bank does not cover the transaction, we will offer up to £100 towards the costs incurred. In most instances your bank or card issuer would protect you against such occurrences.

Recycling & Environment

Recycling of Electronic and Electrical equipment
As a an environmentally aware company, GenieGadgets.com wants to help in reducing the carbon footprint of mankind.

From 1 July 2007, the UK’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations will allow members of the public to dispose of old electrical and electronic items at recycling sites across the UK, free of charge.

In order to meet our obligations as a distributor under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), GenieGadgets.com is a full member of the Distributor Take Back scheme which provides a financial contribution to developing designated collection facilities. To find your nearest recycling sites for waste electrical and electronic products, contact your local council, or visit www.recycle-more.co.uk and type your postcode into the recycling bank locator. This recycling website also has a huge array of information regarding all aspects of recycling and details of the take-back scheme.
